John Knodell is an experienced trial attorney whose practice focuses on criminal defense, domestic relations, and personal injury. Before entering private practice, John served as a prosecutor with the Marion County District Attorney’s Office, handling cases ranging from DUII and domestic violence to firearm, drug, and Measure 11 offenses. That experience gave him valuable insight into how criminal cases are investigated and prosecuted—perspective he now uses to protect his clients and pursue the best possible result.

John earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Oregon and his law degree from Willamette University College of Law, where he served on the Willamette Law Review. He approaches every case with careful preparation, candid advice, and a commitment to guiding clients through difficult circumstances.

Randal Johnson brings experience from private practice, state government, and public defense to his work on behalf of the firm’s clients. He began his legal career at Saalfeld Griggs after serving as a law clerk with the Oregon Department of Justice. He later joined the Marion County Public Defender’s Office, where he gained valuable courtroom experience representing individuals facing criminal charges.

 

Randal’s varied background allows him to evaluate cases from multiple perspectives and develop practical strategies tailored to each client’s circumstances. He approaches every matter with thorough preparation, straightforward advice, and a commitment to achieving the best possible result.

Camilo Guizar is a law clerk and recent law school graduate awaiting the results of the Oregon bar examination. Over the past two years, he has become an integral member of the firm’s legal team, contributing extensive research and writing in serious criminal cases, including complex Measure 11 matters.

Camilo’s prior experience as a private investigator and employee of the Oregon Department of Human Services gives him a valuable perspective when evaluating evidence, identifying important facts, and understanding the personal circumstances surrounding each case. He also speaks Spanish and works directly with the firm’s Spanish-speaking clients.
